Happy Thursday! Almost FRIDAY!!!!!

Hope you’re having a wonderful week. I wanted to share a sweet little wedding from this past fall. Katie & Burns’. I met them earlier in 2012 and just love their sweet, silly and positive personalities. Katie & Burns tied the knot at the romantic Cypress Grove Estate House. Their ceremony took place at the gazebo facing the lake which made for such a beautiful & lovely backdrop. Katie & Burns’ style was incorporated into each little detail of which perfectly displayed who their are as a couple. From croquet in the lawn, to embroidered shirts, and navy suits for the boys to the perfect little green dresses for the girls. Burns looks handsome and Katie was stunning. One unique details or I should say moment of the day was when Katie said she wanted to do a 1st look with her dad. I have done several couples 1st looks but this was my first, first look between a father and his little girl. I always say you find me every now and then hiding behind my camera to hide a tear. This was one of those moments for me. It was so sweet. Katie & her father have such a sweet close relationship. He was there running around setting up picking up things and made sure her day was perfect. It was the sweetest thing. He followed us around during all portraits before and after the ceremony help with holding her bouquet and her drink. I do have to comment and say Katie & Burns truly have two of the coolest families. I had the honor of having lunch with them and their mothers and Katie’s brothers before the wedding and they are so much fun and such a loving and supportive family.

Happy February!

I cannot believe how fast January went by. I have a feeling this is going to be another fast flying year. Well we are 1 month closer to spring. I cannot wait. I am really excited to be finishing up and delivering some amazing albums and images to my recent couples and look forward to my spring weddings.

Well it is that time again! G*O*A*L*S!!!!! I am so excited. I completed my 1 of 4 books in less than 30 days!!! Woohooooo!!!! So here are my February goals!

1. Research and start reading my next book

2. Clean out and organize my desk drawers (I am scared it will explode when I open it.)

3. Learn how to make my own homemade house cleaning products (kitchen/bath cleaners and laundry soap)

4. Continue organizing the house

5. Continue search for a perfect intern

Happy Thursday!

Where has the week gone? This week has been a little productive. I managed to get 2 blog post out this week. That does include this one.

Well, with lots of changes coming the biz lately I am looking to add a little something. I looking to bring on an intern. Woohoo!! Someone who I can work with and have fun. What am I looking for you ask. Here are a few important details.

1. You must love coffee.

2. Can accept coffee and good conversation for payment. Oh and knowledge and experience too! (For now. If all goes well this could become a paid position)

3. Able to work up to 6 hours a week. Feel free to work more. This just means you have to spend more time with me. 🙂

4. Be knowledgeable with social networking and know your way around a computer. (I have both a mac and a pc but I cannot figure out the PC anymore. Once you Mac you never Bac)

Duties you ask. Well here are few things to start.

1. Replying to emails and help with marketing.

2. Some light post production work.

3. Assist on weddings (this part will be paid)

4. Know how to have fun and take 2min basketball break in the kids playroom. Oh yeah baby watch out I am good. Check out this fun little gem we have in our office.

What is in it for you? Well lets just say you get to hang out with me and have fun but also in return it will be great learning experience.  Goals and further description can be discussed in the interview. I do ask that you not be a photographer with an already established photography business.

I am so excited to share this wedding. Earlier in 2012 while doing an engagement session at the Cypress Grove Estate House I met a few gentlemen walking around the grounds checking out the place. One of the men approach me and asked “Hey you. Are you that photographer who belongs to that car?” I told him no I wasn’t she was down by the lake doing a maternity session but could I help him? His response “Well I am getting married here and my fiance and I are in photography stage of our wedding. Do you shoot weddings?” As you all know the Cypress Grove is one of my favorite places so my eyes immediately started sparkling. I told him yes and we started chatting and I picked up that he was a total jokster. In that few short minutes of chatting we got along great and I passed him my card. Totally didn’t think he would call.

Two days later I get a call and it was him. “Hey Bumby, this is Nick the guy from Cypress Grove. My fiance and I would like to set up a meeting. She check out your work and really likes it” So with in a couple days I met Cat & Nick at a local Starbucks. My consultations normally take about 30-45 minutes. TWO HOURS LATER we were still sitting there chatting it up and laughing. I went home that night and was in awe with the two of them. They were so much fun and I just loved watching the two of them interact. I was jumping for joy when they called to confirm their booking. I literally hung up the phone and was doing a happy dance.  I knew I was going to have a blast with them. I couldn’t wait to hang out with them. We had such a blast at their engagement session which if you missed that posted check it out here. Cat & Nick E-session I can’t even begin to tell you the fun we at their wedding. The day was perfect. It was filled with tears of joy, lots of laughter and tons of jokes. I actually considered wearing some depends that day. 🙂 Well, let me quit babbling and let you see some wonderful images. Cat & Nick, I love you both and so happy we met. I cannot wait till our next hang out.

Happy Friday All!

I can’t believe it is Friday. TGIF! This week has blown by.

Well, I keep talking about my business name change and it is coming. I will soon be Bumby Photography. The process is slow going. With that a lot of changes will be coming. For now I am still Kristina Grimm Photography and decided to while patiently waiting for the big changes to make a few changes on my current site. I am super excited to share the changes and some updated images on the site.

Happy Monday!

I am so excited to share some fun news. Kristina Grimm Photography (soon to be Bumby Photography) has added a new addition. I am so honored I get to do what I truly love and that is capturing those special moments between couples or the gorgeous bride as she is blushing while walking down the aisle to marry her best friend. I also love making women feel beautiful and wonderful about themselves. So, I am thrilled to announce my boudoir studio is officially completed and ready to go. After much contemplating of what I wanted my soon to be studio to look like. I decided it needed to be me and how I love to shoot. Bright, airy and beautiful. Thanks to my wonderful supporter and husband he has built me the perfect little studio to do just that. I am tickled to have my own place to photograph in. With that being said here are a few pictures of my perfect little studio.

In celebration of the completion of the studio I wanted to announce some Valentine’s Day specials. Why not get the Mr. something sweet and special for the big day. Happy New Year’s everyone! I love the beginning of the year because we all get to start completely fresh. I am ready to hit the ground running and get working. This year is going to be wild and fun. I am so thrilled. New big changings coming this year for me both business and persoanlly. I wanted to take a moment share with you some of my 2013 goals.

2013 Goals

1. Change Business name and all that comes with it (Yes, I finally decided on a new name.)

2. Blog at minumum twice a month (this is still a challenge for me as we all know. Oh and this counts as 1 for this month)

3. Read 4 books this year

4. Balance my family & work schedule

5. Slowly organize and get rid of stuff we don’t use.

6. Continue our healthy eating and exercise.

While I only have 6 goals I feel this is a lot for me. These are big goals and will need to continue to work on them each month. I am super excited and cannot wait to see my progress through out the year. If you have any fun goals I would love to hear them below. Leave a comment and share.

A Major Change Coming to KGP | Florida Wedding Photographer

Hi All!

Hope everyone has been getting out and enjoying this wonderful weather we have had. I know I have!

So on to this mornings topic. Changes coming to Kristina Grimm Photography. Well as most of you know my business name is Kristina Grimm Photography but I go by the name Bumby. Why Bumby? Well as most of you know it is my nickname I have gone by my whole life. On very few occasions people have called me Kristina. It just has never been the name I go by. It reads Kristina on my license and that is it. I have always considered changing my name so it would read Bumby Kristina because I have just gone by Bumby my whole life. I like my nickname. My nickname is who I am. It makes my personality and well it is simply me. My parents, family, friends, husband and clients have called me Bumby.

So why am I bringing this up you ask. Well, because I have officially decided my business needs to reflect me and who I am as a person and as an artist. Kristina is not me. I still feel weird when I hear people call me Kristina. So I have made the executive decision to officially start the process to change Kristina Grimm Photography. I haven’t decided how I am going to do it. I am not sure if I am going call my business Bumby Grimm Photography, Bumby Photography or Bumby G Photography. Who knows maybe I will call it BumbyBee Photography maybe I’ll even go with Bumbalos Photography (compliments of all my friends you know who you are 🙂 ) I don’t know yet but I do know that I have always wanted my business to represent me and going by Kristina Grimm Photography is just not me. I know it is going to take some time to change everything over and change it over properly but it will be done.

Now, I know some people may have an opinion and may say “You should own your real name” or “No one will ever take you serious” or “It doesn’t sound professional” I don’t mean to disrespect when I say this but this is my business and not yours. I am owning who I am. I am Bumby.  I just ask for those who disagree to just support my decision. My work is still the same and I am the same photographer I am just going to be me and start going by the name I have been called by my whole life and what name represents me and that is Bumby. I am 100% happy about this decision and cannot wait to start working on everything. As mentioned, it may take me a bit but I want it to be perfect. So if it takes a long time that is what it takes but eventually Kristina Grimm Photography’s name will change.

Taylor & Reid | Volusia County Fair Engagement Session

Well today I have something dear to share. Taylor & Reid’s engagement session. Tay and I go way back. I first met Taylor in high school freshman year. I am not going to lie I was scared of her. I was the new girl in school just moving to Longwood and no one liked me. Taylor was with the group of girls who did not care for me much so I just assumed she didn’t like me. It wasn’t until soccer try-outs sophmore year until I was paired up with Taylor for drills. I was terrified. I was this little scrawny 15yr old who weighed maybe 100lbs soaking wet (I miss those skinny days ha ha) Taylor was not bigger than by any means but I was just terrified. After practicing that day together I realized “uh she is not bad and she doesn’t hate me.” Every so often Tay and I would pair up together and practice. We slowly built a friendship and became great friends. After high school Taylor decided to venture out and move to Nantucket. She immediately fell in love with traveling and working in different places. She traveled back and forth between Nantucket, Tahoe and many other places working and traveling. She and I never lost touch though. We always managed to meet up and have a great time. It was like we have never been separated. When it came time for Travis and I to get married she was one of my MOH’s. Through the years she traveled and always manage to fit in a little visit back home. I loved hearing all of Taylor’s stories of where she had been and the places she had seen. I lived vicariously through her. 🙂 I’ll never forget the day I told Taylor I was pregnant. I then told her we wanted her to be Maverick’s godmother. She immediately made the decision it was time to move home. So it was scheduled my due date was 11/15 she would leave Nantucket early and take a nice road trip and be home just in time for Maverick’s delivery. Well as  you know Maverick had a different plan. He wanted to be born on Halloween 🙂 She immediately came home on 11/3/08. She settled in nicely and has gotten to watch her godson grow over the years. Shortly after moving home she met this guy. After a few dates with him she brought him over and I knew from that moment he was THE ONE! After a bit of dating Reid asked Taylor to marry her. 🙂 Today 1 year ago I got to photograph their engagement session. Yes, exactly 3 years from the day Taylor got home and now today 4 years from it all we are all headed out to NSB for Taylor & Reid’s wedding. I am so excited that I get to watch one of best friends marry the man of her dreams and capture it all. I just hope Maverick hold up to his duty as Ring Bearer. ha ha. Taylor & Reid I love you both so much and I am so excited for today. I cannot wait! Reid I am so happy that you found my girl. You fit her perfect! I look forward to watching you two engage “I do’s” today and look forward to many years of hanging with you guys. Muah!
